Front Suspension Lift, Worth it?
#2
Well for one it apparently lifts higher than the past one. But think of this. The front spoiler cost about 300 dollars. The lift kit is 3000. So you can replace that spoiler 10x before spending the same amount.
Though if it were me I'd get it because I wouldn't want to deal with replacing that.

Definitely worth it
The lift is a small amount but it makes a big difference. Most of the time the scrapping sound is worst that the actual damage. I just don't like to hear it. This will not eliminate the need to eventually replace the lower lip because it does not lift up fast enough to use on the fly. It is mainly for going in and out of driveways that it is useful.

I have driven my 2007 RS for nearly 18K miles, and I have done just fine without a lift system. Usually when you require it, you can't take the time waiting for it to lift - either there are cars waiting behind you, or you are just in a hurry to pull in. Taking steeper driveway entrances, dips, or whatever, at an angle, seems to do the trick just fine. The lip occasionally drags, and if it gets "hairy burrs" showing, I clean them up in two minutes with a common rough file. No big deal. At this rate, it will take another 30K to 50K miles before I even consider replacing it. No big deal.

GT3 FE Lift
I am debating this option as well.
Five seconds is pretty quick, so not bad.
Do you ever drive with it lifted, or would that not be practical?
Also, what is the estimated lip to ground distance with it low vs high?

I guess it depends on what you think is a lot. I don't know exactly but i can't see it being under 100lbs and with it hanging off the front of the car, combined with the $3000 price tag, seems like a no brainer.

Front Lift
OK,
Here's the official word from the 991 GT3 Owners Manual, pages 64-65
Lift take approx 3 seconds
Lift is 30MM or 1.18 inches
Lift function is operational below 30 mph, i.e., you can put it up/down will traveling under 30 mph
Lift will automatically come down if speed exceeds 30 mph
It appears that it operates on a pressure accumulator as extended periods of immobilization may empty the pressure accumulator, in which case in may take 2 minutes to repressurize and lift
Nothing on how much the option weighs. Still looking for that. Hell, if Cup cars come with air jacks, it doesn't seem crazy to order this.
Personally, I am more concerned about the hassles of the center locks given my intended track use.

Haha. Try 13lbs. The majority of weight is also mounted low and centered. It's on my build.
