Carrera GT

Are there any modifications to the Carrere GT yet? The koenigsegg went from 655 hp to 805hp recently in the CCR version

The Saleen went to 750hp with turbos, the enzo has a limited edition that will be 800 hp although at $1.5mm euro or something like that.

what can be done to the GT to get this type of HP? If you look at Koenigsegg 1/4 mile or the Road & Track with the Saleen, you realize that these cars are in anoth stratosphere due to carbon frame, lighter weight than the 996 or 997. you can never get the type of performance that you may get out of a 805 hp GT.

even against the RUf in R&T, the saleen anniliates it in the important categories like 0-150 or 100-150. these stats are good because they eliminate error off the line; 100-150 is the best

any thoughts?

I believe FVD is the only tuner to do performance programing on the CGT thus far... We are getting 650HP out of them just with ECU tuning... We will most likely not be going any further than that though... We also have a BMC filter for it so maybe 655 The cool thing though is the exhaust is controled by the ECU so we can make it louder just by tuning the ECU

FVD Carrera GT Level 1 Specs:
Kit includes:
2 x Sport Motronic DME exch.

Stock:
Engine - V10 Cylinder
Capacity - 5733ccm
Compression ratio - 12,0:1
Max. Power - 450kW (612HP) @ 8000rpm
Max. Torque - 590Nm @ 5750rpm
Max. Speed - 330km/h
Max. RPM - 8400rpm
Acceleration 0-100km/h - 3.9s
<b>
FVD Tuning:
Max. Power - 478kW (650HP) @ 8000rpm
Max. Torque - 640Nm @ 6000rpm
Max. Speed - 340km/h
Max. RPM - 8800rpm
Acceleration 0-100km/h - 3.8s

Gemballa has a twin turbo unit running around with a 1,000 hp, seriously upgraded interior (electronic gauges), but the price is like a million $.

Saleen, put some crazy hp/performance into their car, but it also got a serious increase in price. I'm not sure I would spend $555,000 on a aftermarket performance car/non-car manufacturer.

Say goodbye to the warranty on a half million $$ car. Now that's crazy. Plus....the CGT is much more than many can already handle . That $$ will be better spent on a serious driving school.

I THINK Evan mentioned a while back that it would not void the warranty... I think. He'll have to answer that though.

Are you sure Gemballa actually made that car?? Last I heard they were just planning it and that photo was a photoshop....

Can't necessarily disagree with the driving school comment, but hey everyone wants more power . As for warranty, its just like doing mods to any other car, if the mod causes a problem, you might have a problem, but this tune is VERY conservative, we actually got 675-680 out of the car, but decided to settle it at 650 for the sake of reliablility and driveability!

It's not what Evan says about the warranty..it's what Porsche (or a Judge) says about the warranty. Modifications if proven to impact the "failed" part will nullify the warranty.

I think I would want Porsche engineers on my side of any discussion about their product.

Mod at your own risk... ignorance is bliss!

Who needs more power than a stock CGT, and where could you really use it? You mean to tell me someone's out-driving the car already? Who? I need a new coach...

The extra 400 revs on an already high revving motor is what concerns me the most...

Evan,

How much? When I finally get one I want at least 700 hp so you better get to work on that other 50hp!

We have 4 CGT's that we have perfromed this upgrade to and yes they are out driving . I believe we have done one here in the US, I know I saw the order in the system one day, don't know if it has been completed yet....

ZLP: I spoke with the head programer in Germany and he said you would not believe how much Porsche limited the engine. Said there was a lot of power to be had, but I guess they had an idea that this car would be too powerful for people as it was so they limited it. Like I said, our tune is still very mild compared to the amount that can easily be had just for extra safety/reliablity conerns...

Buddy: A lot . $9,995. 700HP is no problem, but we can't gaurentee reliability/driveability at that point....
Evan
