I did this for my 4.0 - taking out that much weight was awesome - I got the (crazy) expensive version that maintained the sport/regular mode button - Love it -

sounds great. however, i'm not a big fan of the Akrapovic exhaust system for some reasons.

How much weight exactly is saved from by switching to Akrapovic for the GT3RS 3.8/4.0? Isn't the RS exhaust Titanium already?

If you go full blown its more than 50 pounds - with my evolution (retaining the stock sport/sound button) its more than 30 lbs.

A GT3/RS3.8/4.0 has three mufflers. Two side mufflers and on center muffler at the rear. The oem center muffler on the RS3.8/4.0 is titanium.
The weight savings on Akra depends on the system configuration as there are options to leave off the side mufflers just as the oem sides can be removed as well.
Probably some weight info here https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-nip-tuck.html
Long tube headers are now the way to go.

How long will it be until a 991 GT3 full system hits the market? Does anyone think a catless option will be available? I have read that the 9A1 performs better with a little more back pressure resulting in no gains on a catless system. I know it's a premature question but I'm very curious.
