We felt like we got a knocked on the jaw when we heard there may be no successor to the C6 Corvette ZR1. To add a hefty amount of insult to injury, Porsche 911 product manager August Achleitner told Car and Driver there may be no 991 GT2. What a swift kick to the nuts [...]

That would be a great disappointment for many. I, on the other hand, wouldn't mind if their philosophy was to keep the highest performance 911 naturally aspirated and keeping the forced induction for the grand tourer, Turbo. But I would imagine that their reasoning is to protect the upcoming 960's position???

That would be my guess too! Otherwise there would be high risk of sales cannibalization between the 960 and the 991 GT2

Very good point. 960 isn't that far away... Even though we've heard limited information.

Come on. Boss says "may be no 991 GT2" ... maybe? Such bs. Is there, or isn't there?! Drives me crazy

If they don't do the GT2, they should do a stripped out track version of the TT...600 hp, 3200 lbs, PDK-S, RWS, tighter suspension w/ no PDCC...call it the TT-RS and sell it for 225k.

That's suck, if there is no GT2! It looks like the 991GT2 attacking the ring on Youtube may not be 991GT2. Hopfully, Porsche can stick to its 911 product lineup.

gt2 should remain awd and compete with nismo gtr. 600hp, 3500lbs, etc. then make the gt2rs the crazy rwd 700hp monster
