SALE STOP on all GT3's

I have not. If I do a track day it's in someone else's car. I am not a track junky. I do a track school every couple of years or so but not in my cars. There are several people on Rennlist who have tracked their turbos. For 3 to 5 days a year almost anything would be fun.

I say, whats the point of getting a new 991 GT3. Before this recall, it was nearly impossible to order one due to the limited allocation and even if you did, the wait time was quite lengthy. However, with the recall, current owners are advised not to drive their car and potential owners won't see their order for a LONG time. I say just get a good ol' fashioned used 2011 997.2 GT3 and call it day (all the smiles and none of the hassles)

Since our last communication to you, we have continued our direct contact with the engineers at Porsche AG in Germany. They have been working tirelessly to determine the root cause of the issues affecting some 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 vehicles. Last evening, we were informed that they were very close to finalizing their analysis. It will take us a few more days to solidify some of the details, and as soon as we have a more definitive resolution, we will call you to share the news. Please expect a phone call from us towards the middle to end of next week.
Please be assured that this issue continues to have the highest levels of priority and visibility throughout the Porsche organization worldwide, and that Porsche is committed to continuing to earn your trust. We are confident that our determination of the reasons for the issue and its solution are now days away.
Thank you for your continued patience as we ensure that you can enjoy the high standards of performance and safety to which your GT3 was designed and engineered. We take your loyalty to Porsche very seriously and we appreciate it.
Kind regards,
Tim Quinn

What I find interesting is that the local dealer who has been calling me for a couple months trying to get me to come in and look at a new GT3 is still calling (albeit he acknowledged the car coming in around mid-Feb is delayed) has said nothing whatsoever about the stop delivery. I guess I don't blame him. I haven't said a thing, just to let me know when he has one in and I will come look at it. I don't like the sound of plastic fuel lines...that sounds like a very bad idea.

My 09 Viper ACR uses typical rubber w fiber core, combined with solid metal lines near heat sources like along transmission tunnel and along heads. Plastic tanks, yes.

Ouch. I hope not for the sake of those owners affected.

I had my engine replaced on my 2012 991 C2S after 40 miles. Now I'm at about 20,000 miles and can't tell the difference. The car is amazing. I don't really think their will be any real world devaluation of the GT3s if the engines need to be swapped.
I would still fight for some kind of compensation from Porsche. They gave me 2 passes to the Porsche Sport Driving School ($6,800 value), free oil change ($400), and a voucher ($500) for the gift/parts shop. Not too shabby!

Correct. And because of that, I know of a White GT3 that will be getting sold back to the dealer.
