GT3 newb: Vader seats + racing harness

I have an '08 with the Vader seats and love them. So much that I don't want to get rid of them.

Problem: I track the car, and want a 4 point belt. I already have the GMG half cage with harness mounts.

I'd prefer to retain the adjustability, heated seat, and other benefits of my sports seats and would also like to not spend 8 jillion dollars on carbon buckets.

I've spent some time looking and haven't found much help... but there are probably endless bookmarked threads about work-arounds for this - could you help point me in the right direction?

many thanks.

I think you will find that most clubs won't let you use a 4 point belt. There are a couple of folding seats that have a sub slot. Recaro has or had one as well as Sparco.

The stock seats are pretty easy to get in and out. After you've done it once it takes about an hour. The driver side has 4 bolts and one plug. The passenger side has an additional plug. You could probably pick up a couple of shells with sliders new/used for less than $1200. Most likely a safer and better solution.

thanks thanks ... in a past life I was a car audio installer and am familiar with removing seats. Always a bit of a pain in the butt, but you're right - not that difficult. Other challenge is that my garage is the size of a shoebox. Not a lot of space to keep a spare seat hangin around, but it may end up being the best option.

previously I had a M3 and the Schroth quick-fit 4 point, which just threaded underneath the headrest. If it's being run through an adjustable headrest that could simply pop out at any time, it doesn't seem like that part needs to be structural, so it seems like there's gotta be some way to rig it so the shoulder straps come together behind the seat - maybe thread them through a D-ring and suspend that with attachments at top/bottom of cage.
