991 GT3 Delivery Expectations?

Can anyone who has received the new GT3, enlighten me with the timeline from signed PO to delivery? I am currently slated to receive a 2015 GT3 in December, I have signed the PO and confirmed build specs. And now it seems like I should just cross my fingers and wait.

My friend was told his GT3 could sit at US port for up to 6 weeks, has this happened to anyone?

Thanks, for the input!

Mine sat for just over three weeks at port.

I think all things GT3 have quickened.
My '15 gets built this week so I can't comment on actually delivery but I can state that my 2S got into port (GA) on a Monday and was at my dealer in Chattanooga on the Wednesday! That was quick and according to my dealer, unusual. It sitting at port 6 weeks would be unacceptable and IMO not likely. I think 10 - 14 days from port to dealership would be the norm.

Yes, but GT3's get special enclosed transportation with a lift, so they tend to wait for other GT3s. Two other trucks arrived at my dealer 10 days prior with other stock that was on the same boat.

That is true. Which port did yours arrive at N?

Not sure how I feel about that. Is it better to sit at port for weeks to get a covered trailer or get an open trailer and pick-up earlier?

The issue is not only about enclosed trailers but ones with a lift for low cars.
Unfortunately, Porsche don't have a facility (for PDI, etc) for customers to go to the port and pick up their car.

The dealership can provide you with the specific dates that are in the system for your car. The time to transport it from the port to your dealership depends on the availability of transport vehicles, the distance, and the weather.

Even though my car will only have to go 10 miles from the port to the dealership, I'm keeping my expectations in check. If it takes more than three weeks, I'll get angry.

I have an allocation for December start build. For those who ordered theirs, how many months for dealer delivery?

I'd say 8-10 weeks from build start to dealer would be a safe bet.

Having stated that, my last 991S got built in 4 days, it was at Emden and on a boat within 2 days, got into Brunswick in 10 days, off the boat and at the dealer within 2 days from then! My dealer says that was the quickest he's ever seen a car get from build date to dealer.

8 weeks would be perfect for me. Right on time for spring.

Mine arrived in Davisville on the Triumph Ace on 9/29 and was at the dealer in Boston on Wed. 10/1. Loaded on a Interstate Lines transport on Sat. 10/4 and on its way to Longboat Key.
