I have a friend with a 02 TT with Techart chip and exhuast...over 500 hp. He has much more track time than I do, But I have no problem keeping up with him and passing him. We have a lot of fun together very even match........Or maybe I just got lucky and ended up with an extra fast 3......regardless, I would take any of the above mentioned cars over a F car.

If I were a track junkie, I'd have a GT3 long before a TT. The TT is just not special enough. The GT2 and GT3 are special.
But, if I could afford the initial cost, service and the depreciation of tracking a CS, that would be the car for me.

I have no problem keeping up with 500hp TTs in my run group (same skill drivers) They do pull me on the straights, but under braking is absolutely no contest
Now I agree, the widebody Porsche is a work of art.....moreso with the older 993s , but the 996 widebody is beautiful also.
F cars.......its just me, but never have excited me at all. They are beautiful, sound super......but if I could buy any car in the world, it would make my top ten.

However, the used car market is an entirely different story due to high depreciation of the the 2's and TT's. Pre-owned performance to dollar ratio, the TT or GT2 is a much better buy.. That coupled with the widebody's sexy looks and the more comfortable streetability. I'm not saying the Gt3 isn't a great looking car, but I think it looks too close to the lower end of the 911 spectrum for being such an exclusive car...it should differentiate it's exterior with more than lower stance and a body kit any C2 owner can slap on. For me looks and performance both weigh heavy on the buying decision. I know habitat is also concerned with toys that look killer otherwise he would not be seeking counseling for his modding addiction. You should see this guy's garage

on the car though (i was actually thinking about this today driving around in the rain), I guess it depends on what you want.
ferrari - pretty much look at me. everyone knows ferrari's are badass and really exotic. everyone looks at it and will think and / or comment on it
gt3 - only people that really know what's up will know it's a really special porsche. most of the clueless ones will just look at it and think it's a really nice 911.
I'd go GT3, but I'm pretty low key (hell, i drive a station wagon), but that's me.
whatever you get, keep us posted! i'm sure it will be nutty!!

Thanks everyone for their input.....I appreciate it..
But, i decide to get my old 996 TT back...I got a sweet deal and i feel i don't want to spend 90K to 110K on a car...Just not really a smart thing for me to do....
peace
Pic of the TT...
