Trade 997TT For GT3...?
Hey guys....
I've been toying with the idea of selling the Turbo.
Here are some of my thoughts....
First off, this will be my daily driver. (yes I've driven one and they're not that harsh for me)
Why am I considering selling the TT?
I'm about to hit 47k miles which is close to the 50k mark. For some reason when they these hit 50k it's often a hard sell unless priced right. So I figure sell it before I hit that mark and get in a lower mileage car.
Any previous TT owners that switched over?
Anyone DD a GT3?
What are your thoughts?
Do you miss the low end torque?
(I'm sure this has been covered dozens of times)

Do it... To be honest I do sometimes miss the turbo torque. But the engine sounds is so much better.
You need to keep your eyes on rennlist for sale section. Seems the place where people list their gt3 and some are priced well. A few months ago their was a 991 for 135ish. I know that's a lil above budget but should find a 997.2

I have had many P turbo cars .They are great ,durables and very muscular.
That said the GT3 is very different . The 997 GT3 is a precision driving instrument ,and is very fast . The power is linear to the redline as such you don't have the brute torque of a turbo . But it makes up for it easily with its agility and enormous braking .
Now The 991 GT3 is all of that and more .It is in a league of its own.
I would describe it as you are in a missile ;you don't drive it …you just aim it.
BTW
I also have a 997. 2 TT MT

I went from a TT to a GT3RS. I made the move because I do track it occasionally and it's not a DD. It depends on what your daily driving looks like. Is it a lot of stop and go traffic? If so, the GT3 has a heavier clutch and may get annoying. It's also louder and a little less 'civil' but that's part of its charm. The TT's boost is addictive but so is the GT3's scream at 8k rpm. If you've already driven a GT3 and can live with its attitude then go for it.

I did consider a GT2 however, the prices on these have gone through the roof in the past few weeks. I speculate that was when Porsche announced "No GT2" for the foreseeable future.
Also, I would be putting around 15-18k miles on it per year and I would hate to do that to a GT2.
My commute it fairly easy and I don't deal with much traffic.
Yes the GT3's exhaust note would sound glorious echoing off the buildings downtown.
