996 gt3 DME over-rev report

Hi guys,
I am planning to purchase an 04 gt3. Here are a couple issues that are a bit worrisome. First, car fax shows 7 owners. Second, it has over-rev report in range 1 and 2. Should I be worried?

Range 1 and 2 would not worry me personally. 7 owners sounds high, but depending on it's life a couple of those could be dealers/brokers. Number of owners would not play a huge role in my decision if the PPI checks out and everything is as it should be.

How many hours on the car and how many hours show on the range reports? If they are old news I wouldn't worry.

If you are worried about 7 previous owners then the next guy will be looking at 8 previous owners plus the DME report. If you plan to keep it long term and everything checks out go for it.

I use to own a vehicle sales facility. Rarer cars or more exotic cars usually have high number of owners. If the car checks out, go for it.

Thanks guys for the responses. Not much more info regarding the DME report, and the owner did not want to do another PPI at a Porsche dealer. So I will pass.

range 1 and range 2 ignitions should not be an issue.

How come people are saying range 1 AND 2 are no concern? On 996 the dme only has range 1 & 2. So yes range 2 would be a concern no?
It's not out of 6 ranges like the 997
(Perhaps I am mistaken...)

Sorry, my mistake, was thinking in 997.

And yes, 996 GT3 has only two ranges sadly.

Range 1:> 8200 and < 8800
Range 2:> 8800

So I correct myself: Range 2 is a concern.
