Well apparently the Lightning runs 10s so yes I would say CGT was definitely trying if that the truth....
Only in the first run, not in the second though....

It only demonstrates the futility of our quest to be the fastest on the street. This truck with automatic transmission ($35,000) (?)stayed with one of the great supercars ($450,000) in street acceleration. It caused the owner to ask what was in the truck and to complain his CGT needed servicing.
Sad.
Sad.

I remember when some punk ricer kid tried to race my GT3 in his RSX Type-S which was all fixed up. He kept following me when I took a right onto the next street. After he saw how fast I took the next right hander, he decided bail out and make a U-turn.
Any car can be made fast in a straight line. If you tweak a Carrera GT motor, it can probably run low 10's, maybe even lower with FI. But, what's the point?
What would have been funny is if the Lightning had lost control at 160mph due to its lack of proper aerodynamics... which is not too unlikely on a Ford Truck.
