I'm on the list to get one, but I'm not sure it's worth $30-40k difference(i have a 04 996GT3).

Wink

I am keeping the 996 GT3. I will add a 997 GT3 RS if I can. The 996 version is a keeper.

I do really like the new 997 GT3...but I'm keeping mine.

Even if I wanted to I probably couldn't without serious consequences to life and limb. My wife has been very patient this past year with all the $$$ I've spent on track goodies for the car. If I told her I was trading now...

I was caught up in the excitement, but a sunroof and all the electronic gadgets,......Its a beautiful and fast car, I am sure its better overall than mine......But 50k better? I don't think so. And besides that, while it maybe faster,.....its lost its purpose IMO.

Porsche marketing are even better than thier cars.......and thats a hell of a compliment.

Yeah, for the price of a new 997GT3 I can keep my 996GT3 (which is pretty much the same car) and get a 06Z06 or Exige or 07M3 or Cayman S or 996Turbo or 2x Mitsu EVOs, 993TT, Viper...

Just for the record I would like to thank all of you who will be moving up to the 997 as I will be more than happy to pick up a near new 996 GT3 when the market dips with the added inventory of the previous gen cars.

Very happy with mine and keeping it until the 998 GT3 RS shows up, not enough difference in performance, looks, etc to upgrade to 997 GT3 RS.

I've been reading lots of posts by all the people who are going to buy the dip in price on the old cars due to new GT3. Hope it works out for you, but the conventional wisdom on these things is usually wrong...

Did you read exllence? I think the chances of that happening just got smaller. Seems you won't be able to get the GT3 seats in the US with this car, without losing your side air bags... They are a part of the seats now, not in the door compartment....Thats a no, no

Im confused, to be 50k better your car would have to be about 60k or a little under for the 106k sticker, how is that possible?!?

Anyway i dont have a 996GT3, but im going 997GT3 from a turbo most likely!
