You know there is a lot of skill required for those paddles.Don't make excuses the guy got walked on. If a 430 beat me like that I would never hear the end of it. So the vid doesn't lie. Just like it!!

BTW have you all forgotten the video where a Ford truck SMOKED a CGT? Memories are short around here.

BTW, the 430 had a passenger and the CGT jump the signal. Not that it would have made a difference. No doubt the CGT is faster. For those of hoping to get one, just wait another year or so. The prices continue to fall. There probably over 100 CGT's for sale now. Try buying a 430 at MSRP.

BTW, Matt what happen to your 430 Spider? I thought you were taking delivery a couple of months ago.
for every tenth of a second its one car lane. that is a alot!!!
CGT is a 450k car and 430 is a 180k car. not in the same catagory.
Both cars are great. ive driven both and you cant compare

The thing is people are paying stupid money for them which is really at that level not much less than a CGT. if your in the market for a car at $250,000 a hundred mor isn't that big a deal. I agree though that they are both great in diff ways.

1 second is a massive difference when comparing 1/4 mile times.

All that does is show the ignorance of Ferrari owners for willing to pay that.

I am not sure where you got that number but I find it diffcult to believe. Many magazines have the 430 doing 0-62 in 3.7 sec. the CGT 3.8 sec. Also, many are claiming the 997TT will do the 0-62 in 3.4 sec and beat the CGT around the Hockenheim course. The TT is around $120,000 before options and taxes.

I have owned a 430 coupe and now a Spider and driven the CGT rather extensively. Your right totally different cars. If you want all around performance the CGT is hard to beat unless of course it runs into the Ford truck or the 997TT.

The 430 is the total package. great performance, great sound, fun to drive, comfortable, rock solid resale value and eye candy.

Comparing 0-60 times. Are you sure you are old enough to drive? Be honest now.

you forgot to mention mass production ferrari. If the 430 is the total package, what does that make the CGT with better performance, better sound, more fun to drive, comfortable and better eye candy ? As far as resale value, at one point, F40's could be had near 200k...can;t find a nice one now less than 350k and the really nice ones are closer to 400k. Lets judge the value of these cars in 5-10 years, when the F430 will be close to 100k (mass production has its downside...). I'm a Ferrari fan...I'd take a 360 CS over a 430 hands down (much better sound, much prettier, more visceral, better suspension, A TOTAL PACKAGE. That same 997TT would beat your 430, so what ?

I am old enough not to drive around in a car with a silly massive tail on the back screaming "I Am RACER, I AM A RICER oh I mean a RACER. Honest I am real fast. please believe me". Tell me do you wear a fire suit, gloves and helmet when you drive your car around town.

Nothing like a wannabe telling other people what they know about cars.

FWIW, less than a second in the 1/4 mile where the car weights less by about 200 pds and has about 120 more hp is not a lot. And if i accept the numbers above, the 997TT will beat the CGT in a 0-62 mph dash by 4 car lengths.

I don't even know how to respond to that absurdity. Again with the 0-60 times. Don't wear out that test page in that back of your Car and Driver magazine.
Since you are such an automotive commodity, perhaps you can help Fiat, err... Ferrari catch up to all of Porsche's racing victories. They have a lot of catching up to do.

Very well said! A couple years a had read that Porsche had over 50,000 race victories in like 25 years. Light years ahead of everyone.
