I think you could end up in the weed with a lapse in judgment just as easy in your 430 as with a CGT. The diff is you don't own a CGT. I like the superior to Ferrari ride and handling the CGT offers it's superior Drivers. I know were you think your going with this and in all seriousness I think a majority of drivers who buy the CGT don't give themselves a chance to acclimate themselve to the car. It is impossible to do something well with a particular tool if you have only operated it once. Same for driving a car. I have owned more cars than I can count. I love something about all of them but it's not until long term use that the skill level and/or fimiliarity with it becomes evident. The CGT can bite you in the *** as we have seen. We have also know the CGT to be twice the car to drive as the Ferrari( @ least in my opinion/ I own both). I know more people than I can count that have lost there Ferrari that doesn't make the car to on edge does it. It means the door **** driving it got careless or mis judged something. The CGT is the best car money can buy especially with the market were it is.. It makes it that much better. You don't buy modern cars at that level for value. If you do I have a great Dr. for you. You buy cars like that because you want the best driving performance car you can. Well if you suck at driving and your idea of sports car includes an SL or something like that the CGT is not for you. EVERY PERSON I KNOW THAT OWNS AND DRIVES A CGT ON A REGULAR BASIS LOVES IT AND WOULD RATHER OWN IT THAN ANYOTHER CAR ON THE MARKET!!!( since at that price level you pretty much can) Porsche will **** on Ferrari for overall reliability and performance for the money at every level. You go spend 100k over on a toy and i'll go spend 80k off on a super car. Also don't come back and say Enzo Enzo cause I on numerous occations have played with them and the performance is pretty on par in a straight line. Have a nice day. When you compare the tech in the CGT for 385k and you compare the tech in the Enzo at 1mil whoes the better business person. Don't try to justify value. Porsche people will pay for the best Ferrari people want to rent second best. Ask a Ferrari guy to drive to Vegas with you and your Porsche and they always say what about the miles. The miles the miles. Porsche guys don't care about miles. That's why they buy the car not for resale. The CGT ****s on the Ferrari. ( I own 2 Ferrari's so I think they are ok just not the best)

Is nberry the Ferrari crusader or something? Why do you feel a need to defend Ferrari on every single message board if something even remotely negative is posted about it? Everyone here knows how a Ferrari performs, and everyone here knows a CGT will smoke a F430, just like everyone here knows they are on completely different levels. It's like you're trying so desperately to compensate for something the F430 isn't...

No one was knocking on the F430, but you just had to come and make a ton of excuses instead of taking the video for what it's worth. I think you need to stop lying to yourself and find something better to do...

Its an insult to even caompare a 430 to an F40!
F40 is the best modern F by far also if you mod it a bit its even more of a beast!!

I saw 6 430s yesterday so there is nothing exotic about that.
Ruffmd is correct in long term value of the cars. They are going to make more than 20k 430s!!!!!

I honestly don't think P's are exotic. The cgt is but the average person (myself included) doesn't know the difference between anf of the cars. They all look the same. BUT the cgt is a different story!!! For me to even think about buying a P means a lot about the cgt.

Having driven an enzo, cgt and an f430 I can say you need to have them all.
The cgt is very close to the enzo. Best bang for the buck!!

I dont agree with you on the P cars not being exotics because I think they are. Other than that some very valid points. But think about this, I know the diff between all the 911's etc in the Porsche lineup but there are people who do not know the diff between a 360 and a 430. So same type of thing but just for F cars.

I understand what u r saying. P cars are great but to say you have a p car doesn't mean that much anymore. You can b a soccer mom, a boxter driver barley making ends meet or richard barry (in the cgts case)
That's the problem and I think that's the reason the cgt's value is suffering

RufMD, Porsche suffers from being a mainstream car company and to date have been successful. That is why your CGT will not enjoy a resurgence in price. They no longer are considered as building exotic cars. Porsche is the German equivalent of GM but for sport cars. I suspect it will continue to depreciate in value as the warranty runs its course. If you believe your car will go up in price your smoking something.

As far as the total package is concerned, the CGT has a pedestrian sound unless under full acceleration. Even then it is not that noticeable while in the car. Additionally ,the CGT interior is small and tight and other than passengers, nothing fits in it. As one owner commented "my wife did not have room to take her little dog for a ride." Also there is no luggage space.

The CGT is not easy to drive and has been involved in several single car accidents. You need constant vigilence in order not to kill yourself. The car is too powerful without adequate safety devices. Its ride is jarring and very uncomfortable. I found no fun in driving the car. One lapse of judgment and you end up in the weeds or worse hospital.

There is a reason why the CGT is in the dumps when it comes to value. People recognize the car for what it is; a street legal race car primarily for very accomplished drivers mainly professionals. Most moneyed people understand this and consider the car radioactive.

Finally I have driven the CS often and I prefer my 430. Your F40 is a quite a car but only for the best of drivers. BTW, are you aware that a British magazine raced the F40 against the 430 around a track? Guess who won.
Hmmm, even the most fanatical 430 owner that knows his rectum from his cranium would laugh at you ! I guess I should trade the F40 in for one of the 20,000 430's that are going to be spewed out...As far as the pedestrian sound of the CGT, you are full of dung...even the harshest critics acknowledge the engine and exhaust note as one of the best on the road. You don't need constant vigiliance to drive a CGT, that is a dramatic overstatement. You need common sense (something even swedish enzo owners sometimes lack)...As far as luggage space, I would hardly consider that a primary purchase factor in this segment (how much luggage space in an Enzo, in any supercar worth its salt ? Does the F430 come with a bench seat ?

You may prefer your 430 to a CS...but take a stroll over to Ferrari Chat and read the threads comparing the CS to the 430...apparently your tifosi brothers have a consensus opinion much different than yours...Now, the F430 is a good car, but its no CS, its no CGT, and I don't think any reasonable person would pick it over an F40. I love the sound, performance, looks and engineering that make up the CGT....in fact, its a keeper along side the F40. It evokes as much passion on the street as the F40, and is a complete joy to own. If some of your moneyed friends don't have the gumption to drive it, and find it "radioactive", maybe they just lack a pair ?

RufMD, very well put. As an owner of some very nice cars (thats quite the collections you have there) your insight into this is right on. I completely agree with you on everything you said. From what this guys says, it seems he wants a CGT but was only fortunate enough to buy a 430. By all means its a great car, but not even close to being on par with a CGT. I personally think that while the 430 is a great car, the 360 is more of what I would like despite it not being as fast.

I agree, and we see Ferrari's alot as well, does that make them any less "exotic", no! RUF MD, btw very well put!

PorscheC4 : My nismo g35 was an aerokit option they offered for the 03.5 half year model, its the 260hpa nd tq model but had alot of updates from the regular 03, reclinable rear seats, no trunk handle, aero kit option , sport option and so on. Its a GREAT car, comfort wise, its got some pep and bulletproof, not one problem int he 2 years and some change ive owned it, they are great. And even now they are much more powerfull BTW i had every bolt on short of forced induction back in the VQ modding scene 03-04. I was the first to do alot to the car, Borla and no cats (test pipes) sounds insane and i still have it on the car, i have the underdrive pullies, injen intake, crawford intake manifold, suspension its a hell of a car, very fun and quick as well. My friends V8 B6 S4 was right alogn side with this!

Thanks for the info. Yes, they are quick and only keep getting faster as the years move along. I am actually going to take a look at one tomorrow. It really is a beautiful car too IMO. I am looking to do some mods to it when I get it. Possible APS SC but not sure yet. Def Nismo full cat back plus headers, intake and software.

iLLM3: One other thing for you since you also owned an e46 M3. I was looking at buying one pre owned since this is the last year they are making them before going the the v8. How did you like that car? My decision is between the e46 m3 and the g35, the g being new and the m3 being used? I kno u said u have the sedan if im not mistaken? and even though different cars how would u compare them or a g coupe if youve been in one?

Hey Doc, I knew sooner or later it was going to come down to the Kahonies, Weyvos Rancheros, Having a pair, it's all about the total package. When your voice raises two octives you shouldn't be in a CGT anyway, unless you're a passenger... That should stir up the pot enough...
