I have three pieces of paper hanging in my study that make me anything but an armchair engineer. However, you don't need any of those to know that 2800lbs > 3200lbs.

I was expecting more radical changes to be honest.

Here is a chart to compare the specs of 996GT3RS vs 997GT3RS

The comparison (link) put up by Shawn C is very telling. It says the RS will have PASM and same gear ratios as the GT3 and shows PCCB's as optional, not standard. Very interesting as the price I have heard for the US is $126K, versus $106K for the standard GT3. That is a lot to pay for a wider car that is 20 kilo lighter.

I also noted in someone's post coming to North America, and I was hoping that meant USA and not just Canada (as has happened in other models). It does say in the detailed comparison USA version for certain items.

Time will tell what comes to the USA, hopefully we get the seats etc... Looks like Porsche got turned down on the Lexan window, so we may not get the full 20 kilo weight savings either. The Orange Black Combo is stunning. Just 9 months to wait.

BTW I think that the pictures don't look that great, colour wise at least. I spent a couple of seconds in photoshop with each one and used "auto levels" and they look much more vivid and do the colour scheme some justice...

Wonder what color graphics will be on each car? Black with orange wheels and graphics or blue on black, may look badass.

I have a copy of the official book on "The New 911 Turbo" (available at US dealerships now) and it shows the PCCB's as optional on the turbo car. So its not surprising that the PCCB's would be optional on the GT3 RS.

BTW - that's one serious roll bar on the Orange GT3 RS!!

Did anyone else notice the car comes stock with Pilot Sport Cups much like the M3 CSL? I'll be willing to bet with the increased track, tires, and stiffness (despite weight reduction being minimal) we'll see SIGNIFICANTLY faster lap times.
