WELL put. The only people that think they're an overpriced failure is the brokers and dealers that can't sell them for sticker.....which has completely ruined the car's image. Just because it's not appreciating like a Ferrari doesn't mean it's not a better car....and it IS.

Perhaps I can get one of those thule luggage racks for the the roof....
What about the 5pc luggage set? That should allow a weekend getaway with two people (who pack light), no?

I've not used my Carrera GT for a weekend trip yet since I have other cars that are more utilitarian.
I also can't seem to bring myself to park the CGT in a place where it's exposed to the general public for long periods of time. Say overnight in a hotel parking lot. And, valet parking is strictly off limits!
Any other Carrera GT owners worry about this to the point of only parking at home, or some other controlled area?
Am I just being a wimp about it? I've considered that as a distinct possibility

I'm approaching 10,000 miles on my GT. I drive it always (come by La Jolla, CA area in the mornings and evenings to see a GT every single day) and I love it. Every time I even think about another car, the GT reminds me why I got it in the first place.

Ditto that.
Actually thinking about getting another CGT base on what you have describe. My memories og the CGT are striking indeed. One of the best cars I've owned.
Re the critics, just wannabees, who can't be.
Enjoy

Anyone have any updates on the ruf suspension...
...with lift capabilities? A few months ago this was a few months away. And this would be a nice feature for driveways.
Tyson, is there ANY doubt you should have one? You, of all people. Though I would be very afraid.
And as for the luggage set -- in theory it works, assuming you keep the top on, your passenger is less than 2 years old, and you are packing a toothbrush. It is great if you are alone in the car. And it is pretty clever how it is designed to work around the few empty spaces in the car, but essentially just there for show.

No, you are not being a wimp. I feel the same, although I once parked it outside at a motel overnight, right in front of the main entrance. I got good laugh seeing people walk by the car on their way into the motel! But I didn't like being away from it, in my room with the car exposed like that. It turned out fine.
I agree I wish it had more storage.

I don't ever see selling it, so long as my physiological health stays in good shape.

Initial fears have long since gone away -- in fact I hardly ever scrape it now and can't honestly remember why I was afraid of the clutch. My only complaint (besides it would be nice to have that front lip lifter) is there is just no room for anything besides yourself. I know the car wasn't meant for weekend getaways, but the truth is the car is so damn fun to drive it sucks that you can't really grab a (lady)friend and go somewhere for a weekend unless you plan to buy everything when you get there. The car is as much fun to drive today as it was on day one. I am someone who suffers from a wandering eye when it comes to cars, and many a time I've loved a car for six months only to dump her for something new, but this baby still has a hold on me. The handling is perfect -- the more you drive it the more you realize just how communicative it is. The throttle response, the balance... just ideal. And then, when you have a sunny day, you take the top off and you have a super-cruiser.
I know their vaules are in the toilet relatively, and for some they may always see the car as too dangerous, overpriced, or a failure. But my overpriced failure is the most amazing thing I've driven and might as well be sex on four wheels.
