Life with the CGT.

Hadn't really posted in a while and thought I would. After about eight months with the CGT (though the last three weeks haven't had time for it!) I have to say I still love the car. Maybe more than ever.

Initial fears have long since gone away -- in fact I hardly ever scrape it now and can't honestly remember why I was afraid of the clutch. My only complaint (besides it would be nice to have that front lip lifter) is there is just no room for anything besides yourself. I know the car wasn't meant for weekend getaways, but the truth is the car is so damn fun to drive it sucks that you can't really grab a (lady)friend and go somewhere for a weekend unless you plan to buy everything when you get there. Perhaps I can get one of those thule luggage racks for the the roof. Lol.

The car is as much fun to drive today as it was on day one. I am someone who suffers from a wandering eye when it comes to cars, and many a time I've loved a car for six months only to dump her for something new, but this baby still has a hold on me. The handling is perfect -- the more you drive it the more you realize just how communicative it is. The throttle response, the balance... just ideal. And then, when you have a sunny day, you take the top off and you have a super-cruiser.

I know their vaules are in the toilet relatively, and for some they may always see the car as too dangerous, overpriced, or a failure. But my overpriced failure is the most amazing thing I've driven and might as well be sex on four wheels.

The same could easily be said about your 959. Great little write up, but you should really take a picture with the two Porsche's next to each other.

I feel the same way about my new BMW M3. I am the kind of guy who gets bored easily and never owns a car for more than 2 years. This M3 though is a blast to drive. On or off the local autobahn. I know I am not in the same league as the CGT but figured I would add my similar view.

Well, from your 2 sentences above, you don't need that "lady" friend, you're already having sex just driving that beast!

Geez Deano, I was hoping you'd say something to the contrary... all you're doing is making me feel worse that I haven't bought a CGT yet. This compelling feeling I have been having to own one is only getting worse.

Dean was also the bad influence who is responsible for me buying a GT2!
