Would you tradre a 996TT for a GT3 ?
Hi Folks with a GT3,
I am in between a major dilemna. I own a 2003 996TT (www.bowebpage.com) and I found a few nice 04 GT3 (silver, black, or white). The porsche is not an everyday driver, I use it for week end drive and track time. I am not tracking the car too often (about 5 times a year) and I am far from being a pro. My TT is equipped with Stage 2 giac and exhaust+intake.
I am afraid to make a bad move from switching to GT3. Are there other arguments that can convince me of getting a GT3 or to stay with my tt?
I am also concerned about resale value....
What would you do ???

It seems like quite a few people have gone from TT's to the GT3. I've heard very few complaints. My advice would be to drive a GT3 (if you haven't already) and see which one suits YOU better. Good luck - they're both great!

I'm the 3rd owner of my '04 GT3; bought it with 12K miles on the odo. Both prior owners traded it in for TTs as they felt the car was too much for them. It's a driver's car, no nannies (except ABS), much noisier than a TT, much quicker handling, not nearly as comfortable. I sold my 993TT to get the GT3. I'm happy with the decision.

I test drove two Turbo's before getting the GT3, and I wasn't that impressed w/ the Turbo's reflexes. Then I was able to get a test drive before signing on the dotted line on the 3, and after two blocks down the street, I was sold on the 3. Then again, I'm now considering trading it in for a 997 Turbo. Why? I'm getting the handling thrills now out of an Elise but want more power and comfort in another car. But I don't regret getting the 3 a bit and I truly enjoy this car in the past two and a half years. Hope I'm not confusing you even more.

MZ3Bo, I would like to share some advise my grandfather told me. When you have a decision to make, and not clear which way to go, don't make a decision at that time! At least you have safe-guarded yourself from making the wrong decision. The clarity will come with more information and time. Good Luck in whatever you do. Regards.

I looked at both. If it was going to be my primary transportation, turbo all the way. If for fun on the weekends and tracking, the GT3. I went with the GT3 and will keep this car forever. It's unique, raw and much more nimble to drive than an awd car...If you insist on turbo, then GT2...

Very hard desicion for sure. It 'd be nice if you can afford them both. That said, there is reason why all GT owners love their cars and swear by it. Life is short try it all and see for yourself.
