Southern California GT3 RS Dealer Deposit
Has anyone in the SoCal area put a deposit for the 997 GT3 RS?
I want to purchase one when it comes out, but need to get a referral to
a honest and straight forward dealership.
THX.

I've also got a deposit on a 997 GT3 at Newport Auto. My salesman has been vague about where I am on the list. He's been dropping hints about if I'm ready to spec one out I could probably get a Oct or Nov allocation. I assume you were in the top 5 of the 997 GT3 list to be able to put your order in allready.
I'd like to see the final order guide before I put my order in. Plus I'm still undecided about the Gen II PCCB. How did you equip your GT3??

My salesguy told me once you've spec out your car, he gives it to the manager who will then order the car as allocations come in even if you're a little bit down the list. If the guy before you on the list does not have the specs then you will get it before him. I have to trust my salesguy because I wasn't at the very top of the list for the 996GT3, but I got it in Dec 2004 which was earlier than I expected.

I have a deposit at HOEHN in Carlsbad -#1 on list. Don't know if I'll end up taking it all the rumors are true. Also #1 for GT2. Hoehn made easy on me. Pioneer Ctrs was asking for $5 for a similar deposit.

ok - let me rephrase that "assumption". from what I have heard, although labeled GT3 RS and a carbon fiber rear wing and a 44mm wider stance, there is no difference from the regular GT3.
I have always understood a "real" GT3 RS to have plastic windows, sport seat(s), lighter flywheel, roll cage, etc.... The GT3 RS coming stateside will have a mandatory sunroof(!) as well as PASM
Not that I would even be interested in a "real" GT3 RS, it seems to be just yet another marketing ploy by Porsche. Will they ever get tired of making money?

I'm thinking White or Red, PCM, Bi-Xenons, Carbon Fiber Pkg, Sport Chrono, PCCB.
My sales guy offered to let me drive the first GT3 that comes in, could be your's. Actually I think he was assuming there would be a launch car or the dealership may get an extra car that wasn't pre-ordered.
