Which one you would go? Let's say if one good condition used 996GT2 price is same as a brand new 997GT3.
Let us focus on performance only for now...thanks all....

The power difference between the two cars is very significant, especially when you consider the tuning potential of the GT2 which is virtually unlimited. I think the GT3 would be an easier car to drive hard as it has much less power and the linearity of a naturally aspirated motor.
Ultimately, you would really have to drive them both to see which is best for you. They are two very different types of power plants and two different types of driving styles to use them.
For me, I would not even give the GT3 a second thought if I had to choose between the two.

I think you should consider the GT2 versus the GT3 RS - I think the 997 GT3 will be a more refined car and offer more GT type rewards. While the GT3 RS will offer more of the Raw experience you would get from a GT2 or 996 GT3. You can't argue with the power potential of the GT2. So you have to weigh, new car, warranty, great performance experience, versus used car, likely no warranty and very raw performance experience with unlimited power potential.
What is important to you is what will help you make the decision!
Good luck

Funny... I ask the same question 2 days ago on that forum... keeping my 996TT with modification or change it for a 997 GT3. And NJ-GT give me an other possibility... GT2!!
I don't know what to do... !!!??
I think I will go with a GT2.
Maybe tomorrow I will change my mind for a GT3!! LOL

The 996TT feels pretty strong due to the torque, but everytime I hit the track I pull away from lightly modified 996TT and stock 996TT-X50 on the straights, on turns is not even fair to make a comparison.
You should consider a GT2. It's going to be cheaper than the 997 GT3.

How about next year, or 2008? Will 996GT2 below 100K? Used 997GT3 will be for sure but I really have no idea about 996 GT2. My wife likes the M5, but I only want 911 GT cars, they are the Pure Porsche.
