GT3 RSR has 485 normally aspirated horsepower!
Hey what's up with that? Why does the RSR get 485 normally aspirated horsepower? Why don't they stuff that 3.8 liter engine into the 997 GT3 RS and make it worth the upcharge for the US?
As I follow various discussion threads, it seems like the US market is getting screwed with the RS. Everytime I turn around it will cost more $$$ and get less of the goodies (rollcage, gt seats, plastic window) and more weight...what's up with the SUNROOF....argghhh!
In the end I get the widebody with the fantastic Orange or Green colors for and upcharge of $20K, $40K, ????
What ever happened to $126,000 MSRP, cannot remember where I read that, but how about we get together and get Porsche North America to throw in the RSR 3.8 engine!

Race engine= rebuild every 20-25 hours of usage! Rebuilds are usually performed by Porsche motorsports!

Now, the fact that they're using a 3.8 makes make me believe that they'll bring a "bullet-proof" n/a engine race engine to their street cars. Makes perfect sense for the GT3. Now is it not very likely that Porsche will release a new detuned street version with 450HP ?
I agree the new 997GT3 is a beautiful car, but not enough to trade my car in, but....with the wide-body and the orange color, I just cannot resist! I want to keep the car a couple of years and not get screwed when Porsche releases the GT3RS "S"

thor....good point, maybe a 3.8 in the GT2? They have no released any concrete info on it and it probably will not be out within the year. They might have a chance to put a 3.8 in it! just a thought.
