997 GT3 calling my name
I have a modified 996 Turbo but the new GT3 looks like an amazing car. I was wondering from you existing GT3 owners how flat the power curve is. Is all the power at the top end or is it pretty linear. Is the clutch hydralic. I guess I'm asking can the car be driven more or less on a daily basis. Thanks

I'm sure you've seen this thread.
I'd be thinking the 997 GT3 would be an easier daily than the 996.

I've drove mod 996TT, 996GT3, 997C2S and 997TT. GT3 didn’t give you huge TQ like modified TT, especially when comparing it to your RUF. Is a High rev engine, you receive more HP and TQ at higher rpm. I believe all GTs use hydraulic clutch, which mean GT3’s clutch will be heavier than your TT. When I am comparing 996TT and 997TT. The newer models have improved the comfort in every way such as PAMS, seats, shifting. After 2 days in the 997TT, MY 996TT feel raw which I have the same feeling when I switch from 993 to 996.
The answer of daily drive is all depends on what you need and where you drive it. If you always in downtown city area, TT will be serve you better in stop and go traffic. Other than that, 997GT3 can easily be a daily drive.

^Use a dictionary or something to help you out man.....I caught myself stuttering like a billion times while i was reading that.
I would be guessing that it would be about the same as the 996 GT3 as a daily driver, but that's just me.

Thanks guys. I'm looking for a car that feels a bit more raw, more responsive handling wise and more nimble than my turbo but still has creature comforts and the new GT3 seems to cover those bases not to mention it's absolutely beautiful. It would not see much city or heavy traffic conditions. I'll probably keep the turbo too, it's hard to give up all that torque. Any idea when deliveries will start?

Bruce, the 996 GT3 is a great daily driver, no problem whatsoever. The powerband is flat and smooth (not nearly as great as the turbo or gt2), but feels substantial. Clutch is no problem, my wife has no problem driving the GT3. Really a great car....but as you can see I'm also looking to change my ride, but to a 997 GT3 RS.
You won't reget it.

I did it
Well, I paid my deposit for the GT3, estimated delivery May 07. I'm going with Carrera white and black interior. Does anyone have any experience with adaptive sport seats, i'm not real fond of the regular sport seats. Can't wait for May.

I have the same color combo as well as those adaptive sport seats in my 997tt and all I can say is that those seats are the best!! they are comfortable as well as being sporty as hell. I think the sport seats are worth every penny.

Monsoonmadness, How adjustable are the adaptive seats, specifically the side bolsters? What's the range of the adjustments? Can they go from real tight to almost flat? The white/black color combo is real classic Porsche, gonna be a lot of fun. Ever since I went to the 2 day PDE course handling became my priority and the GT3 covers that base and is still comfortable on the street.
Thanks Chris from Cali, should be a real blast.
