GT2 is infamous around these parts
BBS Racing

Am I correct?

The right one is the old version Alu racing wheel and the left one is the new version Alu racing wheels?

Why the Mag wheels are not good for street use?

And how heavy are the Alu wheels?

your are correct the right pic is the new alum wheel...according to Damon at Tire Rack (board sponsor) BBS does not recommend the alum wheels for the street either...if you do run them on the street (I do)...watch out for potholes and avoid bad roads...the mags are even less suitable for the street...the alum wheels are much lighter than stock but I don't remember exact weights...pm or email Gert at Carnewal (board sponsor) and he can give you the weights...great wheels...

on a gt2 go with 18s. The geometry is wrong for 19s... A whole bunch of us run the BBS Alu's on the street (even though we're not supposed to) and have been ok.

Guys those are the new style wheels-
The old wheels were - Mag centered- then they were a alu/mag blend
and now the new ones are alu.

The old wheels do not have the spokes machined on the inside..

We run these on street cars as well..

Tire technology in 18" is much better than 19" hence the cars perform better on 18's versus 19's.

As Fabryce said, both of those are the "newer" styled Aluminum BBS race wheels. The magnesium's i dont even think are made anymore or sold, because the aluminums were stronger and lighter, btw magnesium's have a coarse finish and texture, they arent smooth!

The wheel on the left is the old version and is no longer available.
The one one the right is the latest version and is an evolution of the wheel shown on the left.

Weights for the racing wheels with alu centers :
8,5x18 : 9,2Kg (20.24lb)
11x18 : 9.5Kg (20.90lb)
12x18 : 9,7Kg (21.34lb)

We run 9.5 and 12.0 on our World Challenge car.

8.5 and 11.0 or 11.5 is what the cars will accept with no fender modifications.

You can get them made in any size, as they are custom built. Best to stick with stock sizes and offsets.
