Can you give us a detailed comparison between the 996 TT/S and the GT3. I would think the GT3 is a nuch more involving car to drive and the TT feels more like a high speed cruiser by comparison. I have a GT3 on order and have a 996TT, I want a less insulated driving experience and I'm sure the GT3 will give me that but I would love to hear a detailed comparison.

 

well lets put it this way... the GT3 is like you said much more involving to drive... in this weather right now i can slide the tail at any time any where... the car is not as harsh as you'd think but the chassis plus suspension is much MUCH more stiff than the ones you find even in 996TT with Coilover suspensions... for me since i track around 20-40 times a year in a full race Honda the GT3 is a much better car for me since i am use to much more stiff suspensions and harder cluch and sensitive steering and chassis... i love the 996TTS i had... i had the chip in that too... power wise the GT3 is no match for a turbo car of any kind... it just doesn't have the spine twisting torque of the TTs... but by comparison i enjoy the GT3 much more due to less torque which is easier to drive on the track... and with minimal turbo lag the car just goes when you step on the peddal where as the turbos needs time to boost... as with you switching from the Turbo to the GT3 you will have to consider your usage of the car... where and how much you are going to use it... for example... you don't want to daily commute 365 days a year in the GT3... its just simply too much you have to worry about... not just the drivability that is no where near as friendly as the TT but also that the car has no underbody rust proving what so ever and it comes with R compound tires which you'd have to replace much more often than the Street tires... and also the way the car is setuped you got to watch every where you go... plan your route... watch for pot holes and steep parking lots... since the car is so low... but other than those you will enjoy the GT3 much more than the TT you currently own...
