9Eleven, you wouldn't happen to be from MI, would you? I would love to run against a lightly modded GT2 like yours in my Z06. I think it would be a great race.

Also, is there any way you can get some 50-125, or 55-125 readings on your GPS system and report back to us?

I live in Maryland. The Racelogic belongs to KPG. He lives in Michigan. 60 - 130 is the accepted time. I think 5 miles an hour on the plus or minus on your vette wouldn't make a difference, but the additional power to 130 mph will. The box is programed for 60 - 130. Just let me know when you want to borrow it and I will impose on KPG's good will. If you are ever in Maryland send me a PM. I would love to see any graphs if 1999Porsche911 has them. Nobody is under estimating the Z06, I just want to see real numbers. If you know a vette owner in Maryland have him contact me via PM.

This is exactly what I have done and the 997 TT will never beat a Z06, stock vs. stock, with equal drivers, from a roll. It will be close from 0-100 just because traction is a bit*h in the Z06, but past that, the Z06 will run away.

I don't understand why it is so hard to undertand this. A Protomotive 997 TT could barely barely match the trap speeds of a bone stock C6 Z06. It trapped at 124.9, which is, on average what bone stock Z06s trap at. My buddy, who has NEVER drag raced my car, was able to trap at 125.6 mph in it (I have the timeslip and can post it if you would like, although I would have to get it from him since he has it and is loving it in his wallet, LOL). I trapped at an almost 125 mph (look at previous post w/ timeslipe) MY FIRST TRY EVER in 80* heat and 650' above sea level conditions.

I understand you guys (PorscheC4) are passionate about Porsches, as I am about Corvettes or any awesome car for that matter, but for the love of god, don't let passion get in the way with real world facts. A 997 TT is the slower car than the Z06, and that is a fact. Does that make the Z06 the better car? No, I never said that and never will. But when it comes to strictly speed, the fact is that the Z06 is the faster car, period. Ask ANYONE that has had both and are not biased, like "Treynor", and they will tell you the same.
one thing is certain, were all passionate about our cars. i never said the z06 wasnt fast, as it is. i think that as most mags have stated, to 120 mph, the 997TT is faster. do i know that first hand driving one, nope. but im taking their word for it. after that the car that weighs 400-500 lbs less and has more power should be faster. lets not forget the 997TT is AWD. i really want to see what the 997 GT2 is going to run. My guess(purely speculation at this point) is high 10s in the 1/4 mile and prob low 7s 0-100 bone stock considering the 997TT not broken in during the tests mind you has done 7.8 to 100. and the turbo s should be faster and then the GT2 faster than that.
either way, you should take the offer onnthe racelogic box and run your car and see what you get.

hey man, i dont think you understand the way that the 60-130 is run. you start out in 1st gear, then you shift into 3rd(never having shifted into second) and then floor it from there and the clock starts when you hit 60 and end when you hit 130. get it? its kinda the procedure everyones been doing so as to have the most accurate numbers as everyone goes through the same motions so to speak.

Based on the graph posted up a few posts back, twice. 2-3 shift occurs around 72mph and there is no way that third could carry the car to 130mph.

Shut all of us up by running your car 60-130 like everyone else has.

i said 120 mph, not 124 mph. 200 kph is actually 124 mph.

Getting a rolling start and shifting from 1st to 3rd in the Porsche might be optimal for the GT2, but far, FAR, FAR from in the Z06 due to its gears.

Best thing to do is line them up and go at it, just like I have done, and the Z06 will come out on top everytime. If you don't want to believe it, that is fine. I am not gonna talk about this anymore. The Z06 is the faster/quicker car, period and that is a fact, not an opinion. They are close to 100, and that is about it, with the Z06 still having the edge with a competent driver.

Ask anyone that has both, and they will tell you the same.
