Yea its my dads favorite track to, actually my dad got pushed into the wall on a restart at Road Atlanta in turn 1, but thats the only time i have seen that happen.

The vette made that pass with enough room to get in front of the car and "negotiate" that turn, so since the viper was close he should have tried to make the turn going 100?????
I was watching and filming this session and the viper guy was mad that the vette passed him on the previous lap and didnt want the vette to get too far ahead. The vette was about 2-3 lengths behind the porsche entering that straight and the viper was 6 lengths behind, no way he should have tried that move, just pride. Lucky to escape with his britches in tact.
