997 gt3 vs. tt
I know this had been disscused a few times in the past.
But does anyone have any track results between the two.
Such as cornering speeds, grip, handling, track times, and the overall satisfaction of track driving between the two.
Any feed back would be great.

GT3>TT... any day at any road course PERIOD... drag strip is about the same stock to stock... TT more mod friendly... GT3 is not at every street corner... and ya... i'd take both... can't really say anyone is better than anyone...

Short course, GT3. Long Track (n'ring) Turbo has so far posted better times. As for being the same stock for stock at the strip, give me a break. The Turbo hits 100 mph in 7.8 seconds, lets see the GT3 come anywhere close to that.

as far as stright line performance goes the 997GT3 will be neck to neck with the TT from begining to the end... from a 30mph roll... TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!!!

This is the most comprehensive list I could find with current cars. Really I don't think the difference between those two cars is that much, and I doubt anyone on this forum is the level of driver to notice a huge difference.
Turbo faster in wet, more pull on straights, more torque faster car in straights.
GT3 - lighter and better handling in dry probably.
I like the looks of the GT3 better and I'm a bigger fan of normally aspirated cars, but where I live there is a lot of bad weather and awd wins out there hands down.

GT3 - lighter and better handling in dry probably.
I like the looks of the GT3 better and I'm a bigger fan of normally aspirated cars, but where I live there is a lot of bad weather and awd wins out there hands down.
yes the TT is better in daily driving in the rain, and easier to mod and make alot faster
if you want a road course car that is predictable... buy the GT3.. PERIOD

Whatever, I just posted the times. The GT3 is more set up for track, but it is close which one is overall faster (looking at the Nurburgring times). I take all this stuff with a grain of salt, because in truth very few drivers will be able to utilize any of these cars fully.
I am only giving you what I have read, because I am really an entry level track driver and I have only tracked two Pcars including my Cayman S and a 996TT.

It's like comparing apples to oranges. I have both and there is no comparison. Both are uniquely different and better in there own ways. Depends what you want. The TT has endless torque and when the turbo kicks in, it slings you back into your seat. Driving it on the track, it's fast, predictable, and .... uninvolving..with its 4wd, gobs of torque, and psm. It allows and corrects for mistakes. The GT3 is just plain raw porsche. I have yet to get mine on the track (seasons over), but just from spirited road driving the ride is completely different. While less torque, the engine just seams to go on forever with it's 8400 redline (and I've only taken it to 7500pm cause still in "breakin period"). The inputs are tighter and more responsive. The ride is harsher, but in a good way. And with it being hundreds of pounds lighter it feels more nimble and brakes incredibly. So it's all in what your looking for. You can't just compare 0-60, 0-100, and lap times. It's the driving "experience" you feel while behind the wheel.
