If the Z06 had the R Compound tires the RS would be toast, and if the RS had that extra 90hp the Z06 would've been barbequed with or w/o the R Compounds.

It's time to get it locked, the results are on the 1st page.

The Vette can slap on R compound tires for a grand or so, what would it cost to add 90 hp to an RS? When all is said and done, I'd rather have the RS, but let's face it, with equal tires, the Z06 is faster around the track.

my entire point is that the GT3RS and Z06 should NOT be compared in the first place since its got 90HP deficit... now whats so funny about that??? a good comparison would be between the F430 vs. Z06, or 997TT vs. Z06... 90HP in any two cars is a HUGE difference given equal tires... and the Z06 no doubt will turn out faster lap times... whats a good discussion if we know the winner already??? is like saying comparing a CGT vs. Z06 and which one is faster when... now is there really anything to discuss there??? i think NOT...

You can compare anything you want, regardless of tire differences or HP deficit. There are many ways to go around a track fast..its all good.

Sorry, but that wasn't clear to me from your post. I think they do make an interesting comparison, given the big price advantage the Vette enjoys. Yes, it's got a much bigger motor, and a lot more power, but it offers all this at a much lower price. Pretty intruiging option, for those who don't care about lineage and build quality, etc. If you want a fast track car (reliability aside, which seems to be a real question with the Vette) it's hard to beat the Z06. The GT3 RS is also marketed as a track machine, so I think the comparison is valid.

Are you familiar with gearing? Because that gt3's short gears go a long way toward overcoming that 90hp deficit (and it's significantly more aggressively geared than the vette, for good reason). My point? Simply that HP isn't the only determining factor, and all things are never going to be equal.

They both have their pros and cons. In certain areas each is decisively better than the other(the Porsche in build quality, for instance; the vette in performance/dollar). And in others, like track performance, it seems to be a wash. Which would I rather? The gt3.

Got a few questions none of you guys talked about and maybe you can answer them for me. Do we know which car hit the track first? Reason I ask could the driver have been tired with the second car or maybe he was warmed up and the second car had an advantage.
Were the track conditions identical? Was the track the same heat/colder or whatever? Did the wind pickup and was there a head wind or were they going with the wind.
Last questions the driver or drivers of the test cars have they ever been affiliated or paid by any of the test cars? Were any family members employees of either of the cars?
These are some of the questions and any help with the answers would help me make a decision on which car is better.

Mahalo for youe answers.
