I can imagine considering even a stock M3 or slightly modded satisfies me plenty with the high rev's and working for the power!

I cannot wait to drive the 997GT3 damnit, btw those are impressive numbers!!!

I'm not comparing the two cars. Just someone mentioned 12.01 vs. 12.4 and tried to make it sound like they were relitively closes and the performance difference between the two cars wasn't that much because the 2 numbers are close. What I mean is .4 sec is a big difference on any car. Not really comparing the two cars, just saying that is a big performance difference between those two numbers period.

I guess you missed the mag that did the 996 GT3 at 12.0..it's mph was slightly lower then the 997...but it still et at 12.0.

996 GT3 vs. 997 GT3

HERE is a test of the 996 GT3 by the same mag (C&D) where they trip the 1320' in 12.3 seconds at an identical 118 mph. The 40 hp increase on the 997 GT3 may have been offset at least partly by the 190 lb increase. In any event, the 996's hp rating was ridiculously conservative, even by Porsche's standards!

I'm confused as to what the argument is then? The 997 is obviously faster... why are we arguing?

It seemed like the 996 gt3 dyno'd around 350ish rwhp right?(althought porsche stated 380bhp). With porsche stating 415bhp for the 997, anyone know what the rwhp is? Im hoping in the 380 range.

I do not understand the arguement...the 997 GT3 is faster than the 996GT3. Did you guys think porsche would make the new car slower than the older one???? But we still dont have a sunroof lol
