Or do the dealers get a couple and they're free to do what they want with them? I just can't imagine they would have a dealer spec'd GT3 on the showroom floor.

I know of a dealership that has solicited porsches to me in the past over MSRP. Their excuse was its supply and demand. Luis I am not challenging your statement but was wondering is there any info on the MSRP thing because I would love to bring up your point in the future.

The ONLY reason the Corvette won the C&D comparo is purely due to its inexpensive price. However, the Vette only won by a miniscule 1 point margin (203 vs 202) over the GT3.
The Vette scored a 17 versus the GT3's 6 in the "as tested" category of the test. If the weighting on the "as tested" category wasn't so heavily biased on price (11 point advantage to the Vette), the clearly better car would have surely won; the GT3.
I'm not discounting GM's spectacular performance achievement with its Z06 Corvette, but it ain't no Porsche GT3!
