GMG Wins Redline Time Attack @ Ca Speedway Overall!
As many of you know this past weekend was the first Redline Time Attack of 2007.
I am happy to report that we were able to secure the overall win and post fastest time of the day.
The event was an interesting one with the weather being the major factor.
Saturday was warm and partly cloudy. Sunday morning the clouds opened up and we had major rain fall at the track for the morning session which sent all the competitors to the garage area changing set ups- tires and making adjustments to the cars.
The track was slick and visibility very low in the morning session and many of the competitors decided to wait it out till the rain tapered off.
For the afternoons "Official Timed Runs" the weather cleared up a bit,the rain stopped and the track dried up. However the track was now green after being washed by the mornings rain fall, once again changing track conditions from saturday's practice session. The afternoon was also cold and limiting the grip on the track.
We were fortunate to pull off another win, but not by a large margin. The competition is getting tougher and tougher at these events.
If you are considering coming out to one of these events and are unsure. I would highly recommend it. This is a great oppurtunity to get some track time running your car in a safe enviornment, its a great stepping stone for someone who is looking to get involved in club racing or more dedicated track events. And there is a class for your regardless of what you drive.. Even if you have a completely stock class.
The weekend was also filmed by Import Racers hosted by Tanner Foust and will Air on Speed Channel in the next few weeks. I will post the air times as soon as I have them.
I would also like to acknowlege flynduc who participated in the event with his GT2 and did an awesome job mixing it up with some VERY powerful cars from Japan..
GMG GT3 and the JIC Sylvia
GT3 and VERY VERY Powerful EVO that thing makes way more power than our cup car WOWOWO
Our GT2- Strip Club Sponsored NSX- BIG POWER 300zx TT That thing was fast and the STI with wide body that put down 305's tires at all 4 corners ..
Flynduc and his GT2-- Set up by GMG - Of course heheh
Our GT2 again.
And the Race Yaris... SO CUTE

Congrats again! Looks like that 240 was quite a beast to outrun. 1:08.656 vs. 1:08.928. What are the specs on that?
Noticed redline's site even features it on the top banner and not the Porsche.

you guys ROCK! The GT3 sounded so bad *** on the track! The Silver evo was insane it screamed down the straight away... crazy fast. Glad to meet the GMG crew. They helped me out with the air since my wheel bent on the track and caused a flat tire.
They had like 2 White GT3 Cups that were pretty much brand new in the trailer.
I believe Tarzan Yamada was driving that s15 or 240sx? I was told he is driving 3 cars in the US this year?
1:08 wow... my best lap was 1:27 lol

Congrats Fabryce! It's great to see some events are still letting you use the Cup car...
That AMS Evo is a monster - it put down more power than the dyno could handle. They estimated power at (IIRC) 1028awhp.

congrats guys.
Tarzan doesn't drive for JIC. It was driven by Tyler McQuarrie. On a side note, Tarzan is fast, but he is not the God everyone makes him out to be.
Wonder why XS didn't show? guess they blew it up on the Dyno the night before. Thier times from last year don't mean anything. Different track conditions. who knows what they would have run.
GMG- you going to be at the Buttonwillow event?

Guys
It was a very cool event...
Time Attack is a very interesting format. As you all know its a 3-4 laps to get your time and you are done.. A car like our cup car is built and set up for a 50-60 minute race and that is where it really shines. I wish some of these guys would come out and do some wheel to wheel racing. I am pretty confident that the margin of victory would be more signifigant.
Regardless of the outcome it was an oppurtunity for us to do some testing on our Cup Car and GT2 and get some data on parts we are developing. Ultimately this benefits all our street performance customers.
One thing I must mention which was brought to our attention. In the morning session ( rain) the Silvia was running a NON DOT approved tire in those sessions. We were not aware of this until some of the other competitors came over to us and asked by we werent running a rain slick. This was brought up to the other team and they changed to a "DOT" tire for the afternoon sessions..hmmmmmmmmm
We are now concentrating on World Challenge Speed GT and the 997WCGT3 Cup for the remainder of the year and will re-visit Time Attack after the season is over.
It was a pleasure meeting the 6speeders who attended the event.\
Before I forget I have to thank all our sponsors this weekend.

Congrats on the win guys.
my friends whom were there told me that you guys were VERY, VERY fast there.
According to my friend who works at XS,
their GTR broke their rod bearing during the testing on their shop some time ago.
they couldn't even run on the Best Motoring American Touge this year because of this.
and now they're building the brand new motor, and from what i heard,
they'll be running about 750~850whp on low boost setup, more than 1000whp on high boost setup. (i'll make sure on this though)
anyway he was there last weekend for M-Works 350z, and he told me that GMG was indeed very fast and LOUD AS HELL.
again, congrats guys.
