Coming 2010 Ferrari F540 will have V10 550-600HP! How about Next GT3?!
Just read the news somewhere:
The F430 and F430 Challenge are powered by a 490 hp V8 engine and we expect the new F430 CS to get by the same V8 engine, but with bigger output: 520 hp. The standard F430 has a curb weight of 3196 lbs and it is expected that the new F430 CS to be 220 lbs lighter.
A successor for the F430 it is expected to debut around 2010 that will be powered by a 5.4 liter V10 engine with an output around 550-600 hp. The new model will be called F540.

Isn't it just sad that the Ferrari 360 CS to upcoming F430 CS goes from 425 hp to 520 hp (almost +100 hp), even the regular 360 to 430 goes from 396 hp to 483 hp (+87 hp), while the 996 GT3 to 997 GT3 goes from 375 hp to 415 hp, a whopping +40 hp. No wonder why the Ferrari & even the Z06 will eat the Porsche's lunch.

I just read somewhere that the F545i can be ordered with a sport package that resembles the M5 body kit.
Oh wait.
Wrong forum.
Speculating Ferrari's next move is worse than speculating Apple's next move. It's fun to do, but you're rarely right.

V6 vs V8 NA Cubes always win and when you are dealing with cars in the same weight range, the V6 has no chance. 400 hp now and increasingly is like 280 hp was two years ago, left behind.

i would still take a GT3 over the F-Car
any day of the week, twice on sundays.
in my opinion, the GT3 is much more raw than any F Car, i hate their transmission, i hate the fact there computers take out most of the fun.
and ill be bold enough to say that i don't like the styling of F Cars...
one of my customers has a GT3 (996), and that thing is just brutal
also, for a RACE TRACK, which is what the GT3 is designed for, i think the 415hp is more than enough...
500hp is overkill, and the traction control will probably have to work overtime around a race track...

There is a thread on Ferrarichat with pictures of the 430 "Light Pista." The main exterior change is the placement of the exhaust pipes, they are on either side of the license plate.
From what I've heard, the 430 has another year(ish) before the replacement comes out.
