Quick Q: a/t 996 GT3
#3
Thats what I thought... I didn't think that kind of numbers were possible without upping displacement or camshafts if you keep it normally aspirated... someone (from a local shop none the less) is trying to tell me that an extra 50 hp in the gt3 is possible with only a K&N filter, full exhaust setup, and a powerchip ECU... of course I knew that wouldn't be possible, but I wanted to know if the 430 claim could be possible... how much does a cup car with its modifications put out?

It's difficult to get a lot more out of this motor. Luis, I'm interested to see your numbers after your dyno.

I have done 372 rwhp with my 996 GT3. Only mods for that are bmc filter and europipe exhaust. Dyno was on the Mustang @ AWE Tuning....Great shop.

well the original discussion I had was about 430 rwhp, and I disputed that fact with only know how hard it is to get 50 plus hp out of my 986 S's 3.2 let alone a 3.6 from the GT3... a local shop chimed in saying that with the mentioned above mod's that 50 horsepower was easily possible. Do they EVEN? make a K&N intake for a GT3?
And I think Luis was being a little sarcastic

I have the Manthey 410 kit and thats ECU power chip Over size headers racing cats and mufflers so thats 410 at the crank. 450 at the wheels is probably not possible without forced incduction.

IMO, of all of the 996 GT3 "Kit or bolt on combinations" The Manthey 410 is one of the best engineered ways to extract more useable hp and torque out of this NA motor.
Point: 50 or so plus hp for just a couple of bolt ons is hard to believe..
