Hey kirby you shoot with a 17-40 too don't you? Maybe its just a lack of skill but I think its my lens because my shots never come out as sharp as yours I've seen with your 17-40. And this is with timed shutter on a tripod... Crappy lens?

Hmm, I'm not doing anything special. Are you shooting in RAW or jpeg? I only shoot in raw and I sharpen a bit in pshop, but not much. Try a faster shutter speed when you shoot? I try to shoot at 200, I guess I have a shakey hand cos anything lower than that and my pics get blurry.

which program do you edit the RAW pics in afterwards? or do you use pshop directly?

i'll try that. I was shooting in Jpeg but even at Raw i still have these issues. I basiaclly judge by how grainy the picture is when i zoom in on teh bbs center cap of my friend's wheels. I have iso turned down to 100 200 or 400 too. I'll try using high speeds only and see if it makes a difference. Amazing pictures of the rs's regardless. Great colors for shooting!
