MPSC in a GT3, mileage
Does anyone have any idea what is the expected mileage for the MPSC in a 997 GT3 used on the street only. Let's assume that alignment, balance and inflation psi are within factory spec. and the car is driven sanely. My rears look like they won't make it much past 3000 and the fronts wil not last much past 5000. Can anyone comment?

the cup tires are a soft compound and not suitable for street driving if you expect to get any miles out of them...even for track use the car doesn't come stock with enough negative camber to get them to proper temps...if you track your car they will usually heat cycle themselves to death before the tread is gone...any way you look at it...not a good street tire if you don't want to buy a new set every year...unless you intend to track replace them with PS2's...better mileage on the street and better wet performance too...

Thanks for all the replies. From what snowboarder says, it appears that the rears are good for 3000-4000 and the fronts for up to 6000. I don't have another 911 with PS2's to compare but the MPSC feel very sticky and predictable.
I submitted my queston to another group and I got an interesting reply saying that it is not mileage that counts but heat cycles on these tires. He said that the tires could be toast even on the street before the wear indicators show this. I think he said that about 15 of these cycles, the tires would not have any traction. How do I know how many heat cycles my tires have? Can anyone coimment on this?

One track session (not track day) = one heat cycle. On the street you won't get a heat cycle unless your on a back country road and carving up the curves. Even on a hot day just driving normally on the road won't get enough heat to consider it a heat cycle.
