Wow unbelievable project. All speculation, but here's my guess. This guy really did want a Cup car to turn into a street car, but Porsche can not do that, however Ruf could because they're a manufacturer. Due to the low manufacture numbers, they probably aren't held to the same standards regarding crash testing etc, so they ordered a body in white like normal, but this body in white they ordered was a cup car body in white. Then Ruf would put the car together just like a cup car, however they added in a few "comfort" things for asthetics to appease the TUV or whatever governing body of the country this car is being sent to. But rest assured it's probably a genuine Cup car shell and bodywork. B7R am I right? This will be an amazing vehicle.

Unreal. That sequential box must be hard on the body when 'cruising' local roads. I would still do it - enormous upside.

I like your analysis, and YES that was one of the reasons behind such project ...

The owner is an active track driver, but still wants to drive his cup car on public rods ...
This car would defiantly do the job, and would be a "One Off" for quite some time
