Hahah, had to use that title cause it's !!!

After reading the topic about the peb boys muffler bypass pipes on rennlist, I went to the closest store and bought:

2pcs 90-degree elbows, 2" diameter
2pcs "rice-rocket" exhaust tips

Total cost $79.90

The install took me about an hour from start to finish!

The car sounds absolutely nuts now! I actually like how loud it is and I don't think it's too loud either.
You can sneak around with carefull throttle modulation but once you open her up...DAMN!!!!

Only downside is the somewhat ricey look and the fact that I can't hear the wonderfull engine note anymore that well...

I will try this on now for some time and If I decide I want to keep it this way, I will have a shop make me "real" ones from mandrel bent pipes and will try to incorporate the stock tips as well...

Here's some photos and a short video clip:

Oh the sound is sweeet! But I don't know man, I just don't think I can live with those tips.

Price is right though, huh!

Yea, I vote for keeping the sound, and keeping the stock tips (or similar).

Love it man! Had a similar set up on my 996 C2 back in the day... Only difference is, I didn't even bother with the ricer tips. Flat black spray paint on the pipes and it's done! I miss that exhaust note to this day!

Juha you know i love your style but, after my straight pipe experience there is no substitute for a nice exhaust to open up those sweet Porsche meoldic tunes , enjoy though

I drove around with the car yesterday and even though I like how loud the car is, I don't like the note. It sounds like my car is farting....

I also noticed a big drop in power (not only in the lower revs, which I thought first).
My friend gave me a GPS+G-force based performance "tester", so I'll do some runs with the bypass pipes and some runs with the mufflers. Let's see if there's a difference!

But yeah, I hear you re: a quality after market exhaust might be the way to go!

Yea man, even on my turbo the open pipes made me loose downlow torque and throttle response, exhaust was OBNOXIOUS and loud, it was horrible. Putting my FVD exhaust on with no cats was night and day difference, and then the nice sound was back too
