Sequential and Carrera GT rumors

I was at "The Collection" in Miami and met a rep from Porsche of North America.

THIS is total speculation and RUMORS! But he mentioned that a sequential tranny MAY BE COMING SOON and will be offered in the turbo and GT3 version only for late 2008 or 2009 and the comeback of the Carrera GT for 2010 MY with 750hp+ which is in the design phase.

THESE ARE TOTALLY UNCONFIRMED AND SPECULATION on the rep part. Anyone else hear of anything remotely close to these rumors?

I have heard of the DSG that my be coming in the 911s, as for the Carrera GT being 750hp, I thought it would be more like 850 to compete with the Veyron

750 was the number he stated to me, I asked him if it was going to be the same powerplant but he had no knowledge or did not want to share with me.

That was all he told me! Sorry guys like I said just rumors!

Provided the weight isn't out of control, 750 would make a pretty serious car.

As opposed to the whimsical little spielzeug you're slumming around in, eh?

Does that car really need another 150HP??? Will it even be managable? (Maybe they'll throw some traction control on it...)

i actually remember reading about a 950 hp GT1 which is supposed to be the successor to the CGT. its supposed to be a veyron killer. pretty much it will kill everything! i really hope another VERY limited edition Porsche car comes out sometime soon. they need to come out with a car that just blows everyone away again and shows how superior they are to everyone else.

I think 750hp sounds more reasonable. 950hp certainly the better but it will be too hard to control. Another 150+hp with the same weight should make it the best of the best.

I hope they bring back the CGT regardless of HP numbers. Of course the more hp the better.

I heard dealers were not making too much $$ on CGTs so no incentives...Besides, it wasn't as successful as Porsche's initial plans/projections were...Many sat on lots for ages (while dealers pay daily finance charges)

I agree. Big time. If it were to have as much as 950 hp - we could only assume that it would be AWD.

Hope it looks a better than this though...
