I was just informed that Porsche is only building 105 2008 Gt3s for the US. This is not good news if you are on a list somewhere. Just thought everyone should know. It really sucks unless of course you already have one.

its damn good news for those who get their hands on one in terms of resale calue and exclusivity. i think porsche should seriously start to cut down on 911 production and try to make tons of the other cars, but take a ferrari route for the 911s like they used to be with the 993.

that's an awfully low number consider they're making 170 RS for 08? found that little hard to believe.

 

170 RS's? The report didnt list any. Maybe thats why the number is low. I assumed they were producing the GT2 to make up for the numbers.

 

that's why i questioned ur source. if there are 170 08 RS coming then only 105 GT3s? makes no sense at all. GT2 is another car in another price range. Porsche will not expect for those who want the GT3 switch to GT2 just because they don't make enough of them. we're talking about at least 80k difference here.

 

You can have a #1 spot for 08 GT3 at almost every dealer right now. No such thing as exclusivity w/ a $106k based P-car ...

 

and there was exclusivity with a $200,000 996 GT2?! PLEASE...

Go for it. Prove me wrong : ) I hope your right for everyone that wants ones sake. Most dealers arent even going to get one.

As far as a GT2 coming out instead it makes perfect sense in Porsche logic. When they were low on Cayennes for 06/07 they gave us more caymans lol There *** backwards.

I am only saying what I saw with my own eyes. I will feel stupid if Ive been mis informed and apologize but seems to be true.

 

Before I bought my 07 GT3 I thought the prudent thing to do was to order an 08. I called 4 So Cal/NoCal dealers and was told to forget it they already had guys and didnt expect as many 08s as 07's So I bought an 07 from a dealer at 5k over. Please let me know a dealer where you can be #1 on the list.
I dont know Zmedogg or trying to back him up but my experience at some fairly large dealerships including 2 of the top 10 in the nation tells me he may be right.

 

That would be backwards if true Zemdog. I am not saying your lying but I guess the regular GT3 will be next years RS. Someone needs to be fired at Porsche marketing if your info is true.

I actually heard from an extremely reliable source that the RS figure for 2008 is only 80. I don't know about the GT3 however.
