GT3 or F360 Spider...getting itchy to buy

360 spyder vs GT3
360 spyder vs GT3, no contest there; GT3 is a winner. 360CS or 430 coupe vs GT3, virtually a toss up as it all depends on the driver. You really really need to be a fantastic driver to be able to discern any difference between these cars. Handling characteristics are different, but the end results are very similar.
It is amazing to me how people can make conclsuions without having any experience behind the wheel of either. I had a 360CS and I have a GT3 now (I wished I could have had them at the same time). I am not a good driver by any means but I can at least tell you from experience. I love my 997 GT3 and perhaps more than my 360CS (sold), but I tell you that F cars are a lot more than the looks these days. Some people on this board have both of these cars (rufMD?) and can attest to this as well. With all due respect, I won't go so far as to say one is MUCH faster than the other.

I went through similar situation a few months ago. At the end, I end up with the f-car, just because I want to experience it. I found the f-car (F360) has a better handling than my previous Protomotive 996TT. However, the 996TT was a lot faster than F360, obviously I had Protomotive 640. The f-car draws a lot more of attention which I'm not used to it and don't really care for it either. Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong either way.

But the original question was about a Modena 360 ragtop. This is a much different animal than any of the cars mentioned above in terms of performance. The 997 GT3 will eat that car alive, on and off the track.
BTW: I'd still like to own a 360 again, not as a replacement for the GT3, but as a supplement. I found that the 360 was not a viable replacement as it doesn't have the scope of the GT3 though the sex appeal of the 360 is undeniable. Also, the best 360s IMO are the 99's, b/c they are harder edged and faster than the later years due to emissions changes 2000+, and while I like the Stradale, I prefer manuals as they are more entertaining to drive.
