$110K? and they stickered at $200K

The RS...well, it's a crap shoot. I really hope they hold their value but at 60K to 100K over sticker, I doubt it. The mystique, long term demand, and precedence is simply not there.
RS is a bargain at sticker, but not worth a $50-75K premium, IMHO....nor is the 430, for that matter.

No the GT2 is not a RS and the past is not the present -however you can learn from history. The demand for a new car is always
"much much greater" than yesterdays cars The demand for a BMW 335i twin turbo is much much greater than a 330i
The GT2 was stickered for similarly to the premium the people are paying for the GT3RS and the 04 GT2 is way more exclusive than a GT3RS and we can see the depreciation of that car. I have a 997 GT3 and I just don't see the justification for the premium. What makes it worth $80K more than a GT3? Decals? Orange paint? wide body? because there are 360 RS's and 750 GT3's?
I certainly see the justification at sticker and like Jack says I think its worth it-There are guys who dont even think its worth the $17K (i dont agree)
they argued $17K for paint and decals! are you kidding?
but $50K-$75 over just to see it evaporate into the ether no way -Just my opinion but I can use that money for something else and still have it in a year.

They keep forgetting that they couldn't duplicate the RS for the $17K (I think it's closer to $16K) difference between it and the regular GT3 -- wide-body, LWF, certain cup car suspension components, carbon rear wing and NO sunroof...forget about the paint and decals.
I love the wide-body look.....

Jack I dont agree with those guys- I just remember them arguing that point. Had I had a spot for RS for $17K more I would have taken it in a heart beat.
No sunroof alone would have been worth it-
Besides I figured if I keep going you would post some pics of yours! I was right! (I love yours and mootys!!)

The chance of getting one now at MSRP is the same chace as you winning the Powerball Lottery.Dealers are out there to make money. The idea of doing the right thing is not reality.Money is reality.Sucks don't it!!!!!It's unfortunate that the real auto enthusiasts have to deal with this sh-t!!Kind of takes some of the enjoyment out of the hobby.

It looks like Steve is doing a rather poor job dealing with this situation. He doesn't seem to understand that he works for Manhattan MotorCars and is therefore representing them with every word he speaks here.
Regardless of how MMC obtained this GT3RS, any sort of technicality where a deposit is being held for a car that they are still planning on selling at a premium should be explained in full to the customer. It's not fair to Rich that his money is tied up while they are trying to find another buyer willing to pay the premium. At the very least, the car should be offered (at whatever price) to those who have put down a deposit first. I can't imagine how upset I would be if a car I had a deposit down for was sold to someone else solely because they were willing to pay more money, when I wasn't even offered the same choice.
When working at a car dealership, especially an exotic dealership that relies on a coterie of wealthy and loyal customers, it should be understood that all employees are to treat every situation and customer with the utmost respect and delicacy. Steve seems to have simply blown off Rich time and time again in this thread, when it should have been his initial priority to make sure that he's not making an error by offering this car at a premium to just anyone. At the very least he could have explained how this car was purchased outside of MMCs allocation for the GT3RS.
Hopefully we can see a bit more professionalism in the future.
Addendum -- Don't get me wrong; it's not that I don't agree with Steve. I just think that anyone reading this thread is probably getting a poor impression of the way things are done at MMC.

I've paid over sticker for many of my cars and I have no qualm about doing so. If I wouldn't have paid over sticker, I wouldn't be the owner of several of my cars.
BTW.... I do think it sucks having to pay over the MSRP, but in the world of business, you have to make your money where you can. Some products sell fantastically and some products take a lot more effort and time to make a profit on. Magwheel
