Old school or not A CONTRACT IS A CONTRACT AND IT SHOULD BE EXECUTED.
My issue is with the guy that has a problem when someone pays over MSRP for a car. If you didn't get on the waiting list and you want an RS, pay the cash and get it. That doesn't mean you are stupid or dumb. It will cost more but at least you have the opportunity to buy one. After all Money is earned to be spent. You can't take it with you.
Now If you gave a depost for one and the seller doesn't perform, you may now have some recorse. We don't know the whole story so we cannot judge.

Everybody has a different reserve price regarding is own wealth.
You guys are talking about s and d but this is not only what makes economics.
In order to buy an item the reserve price you have should be lower than the current price you really pays.economically speaking. Now i agree that you can make impulsive purchase that doesn't rely on any economics law.
the bottom line is if you know the right person you can have an rs at MSP right away.
Some influencial people out there in Atlanta can push the dealer to sell you at MSP.but this is another story.
my conclusion is that the limited production is a BS from Porsche and has been decided just after the bunch of carrera gts that stayed forever in dealer's showroom.
The worst thing is that if you are in good relation with porsche AG, they will be eager to make you an extra rs for msp.But again it is another story.
What i want to tell you dm1 is that. Some people don't have billion dollar to throw through the window. If you think twice it is stupid to pay a car over MSP that will depreciate one day but everyone do whatever he wants.
So i am kind of upset that you are talking about business law not really nicely and do something contradictory(buying over MSP or over what it really worths is contracditory)but once more the value you consider this car has is personal.
NO OFFENSE buddy

It seems his goal is to only sale cars at a premium regardless of alienating his customer base.........Good luck to Rich, I hope you get the car in someway shape or form.
Best of luck to Steve in trying to sell cars to at above MSRP to an already shrinking market......that I am sure is going to be getting smaller after this thread.

What is everyone babbling on and on about?!?!!!
MMC said the car allocated wasn't Rich's, so why the eff is everyone carrying on like a bunch of old ladies, with "what if's" and "could have been's", and "should haves".
Further just b/c someone makes 6 figures a year, doesn't mean they are any better than someone else.
To be honest, I've seen FAR MORE customers in Porsche dealerships act like the dirt bags you guys are calling the dealer sales reps.
So basically let's stick to the situation at hand and that is "Was the car for sale, Rich's allocation". So far Rich has not proved it was, and MMC has said it wasn't - so lets end the 5th grade lynchmob.

The allocation had to come from somewhere. Most suspect the game being played here is that MMC traded allocations with another dealer thereby relieving each dealer of having to sell the cars at list.
