By the end of the summer i'm looking at buying a new car...Choosing between M5 or CLS63/55. Leaning towards a CLS55 because of the blower and the easy modability, I havent driven the new 63 engine though. I'm keeping the M3 and by Aprilish of next yr it'll be going in for a 997TT or Gallardo, depending on the market.

I just bought a house too! You guys should come down and we can have a mod/tech day before I move anything in!

My bro' Ronan authored that! One seriously nutty car guy! Reportedly drove an M6 from Pittsburgh to Asheville at well over 200 kph the morning after closing the bar! Spent a week on the n'ring with his M6, he's getting his RS there and will spend a bunch of time on the 'ring with it.

A true 'man's man', if you haven't had the pleasure of pounding scotch and swapping (well, mostly listening to) BS, you haven't lived!!

Great write-up, but I wouldn't describe the CGT shifter as 'extremely short throw'.

Yeah, well tell him a big sarcastic "thanks a lot" for helping the CGT prices to go up. Great write up regardless.

Probably in the sense of "moderately careless" drivers being able to drive the car without killing themselves, although I find this hard to believe.

Jamie, what does he mean by "the trick is not to hit the gas". You just throw it in first and let out the clutch once it starts rolling? Doesn't that stall it?

Mid '04 cars and later have a computer program that senses the angle of the car and gives it enough throttle to get it moving. If you try to use throttle while engaging the clutch from a stop, you stall. Now that I've gotten used to it, I can hit the gas at about the mid-point of clutch engagement for a faster getaway.

His knowledge and skills are highly questionable.
Everyone uses electronic stability gizmos, but not Porsche.
Somebody should tell him that WR was the one who insisted to put TC on the car, becuase the car really needed that.
