I am not enamored with the GT2's looks (or the 997TT's for that matter). That would be my main reason for the taking the F430. Given the price discrepancy, I'd rather have a 997 GT3 and an Audi S8 for the same money.

The 430 is completely outclassed by the GT2. They are not even comparable. I guess it comes down to garage art vs. performance.
I'll take the GT2 and save the vanity for someone else.

For me, the way I feel right now the F430 given the choice, for straight up thrill and performance GT2!
you need to move to Tejas

F430 for me. Its plenty fast and IMHO worth the price of admission. The GT2 - I would wait for it to be on sale for $125k in a couple of years.

Anyone have any good sound clips of the 997 GT2? To me, the 996 GT2 doesn't really sound that dramatic/exotic or whatever you want to call it. Hopefully the 997 GT2 sounds much more unique and aggressive.

You are right, that is until you hear one modified by RUF.. It's got such a hollow/exhaust resonance when cruising or accelerating briskly, no turbo noise, sounds so damn exotic! I think that is one of the reasons why i'm so content, I can't use the insane power on these NY roads/traffic, so I just love listening to its sounds!

Here is when it got delivered, you can hear instantly on startup how different it sounds then the regular 996TT with exhaust.. I have headers now, so even less lag and more engine note, no turbo noise.. It sounds 100000x better in person, people ive taken for a ride cannot believe how good it sounds for a turbo car!

Another, short driveby in wrong gear, still sounds great though!

Thanks for the vids! It really does sound much better than stock.

Just hoping the 997 GT2 sounds great stock so every little alteration you make provides an even better sound rather than trying GET a good sound by modifications.

the gt2 will be a go fast car...no ifs ands or buts...the rarri seems to be more of a "motoring experience with exotic flavor" type of auto...

And as for the gt2/turbo not sounding exotic...well...hear them in thier natural guise and youll see that "pretty" or "beautiful" wasnt exactly the aim of the Porsche engineers...raw speed baby!

Pick for me...uhh...neither...a Gt3 for me...but to each his own...

For the same money, I picked a new GT3, an E36 M3 track car with proper safety gear and a built euro motor, and a good multipurpose tow vehicle.

This lineup is working quite nicely for me.
