And the 997S outside the US, via the -20mm option (adds LSD, bigger sways, springs and stiffer dampers).
The US got shafted not getting the -20mm option.
/rant/ I personally believe it was due to model differentiation. Top down, the RS got stripped of its track stuff (seats, harnesses, plastic rear glass, roll bar, and even the roll bar mounting points, ACK). To differentiate the RS from the GT3, the forced the sunroof on the 3. To differentiate the 3 from the 997S, PAG forced us to accept an open differential, just as PAG would not put a LSD in the CaymanS. I wrote PCNA to try to get an answer on the -20 option back when I bought my S. . . no response. /end rant/
