I made a big mistake tonight.......
And drove a 997GT3...............
DHinkle, you were right.
This was my 1st time driving one. I was one of the guys who joked about the stability management, the traction control (which can be easily turned off, I did not have it on at all during my drive) and the Sunroof.
I can easily tell you right now, that those things did not matter at all.
The 997GT3 is so much more refined, it feels the same, but it feels so much different at the same time. Turn in was great with the Sport Cups and they never allowed the car to loose grip even when I tried.
Power is great, even, and in the sweet spot over 5k it feels stronger than it's 996 older brother.
The sound is so much better. The newer interior is, well, newer and I really liked the suede wheel and shifter. The shifting linkage felt great compared to the 996 GT3 with a SSK. Not as notchy but equally as short.
Why did I do this.......?
I still love the 996GT3 (It is a very special car) but the 997GT3 has won a special place in my heart.
Those of you who have switched fro a 6 to a 7 know what I am talking about.

The only thing that will make me feel like a man again would be a 3.8 kit.
