Clutch use, drivability question

Clutch use, drivability question
When pushing in the clutch prior to up-shifting, do you sometimes feel a slight shudder from the driveline? It feels to me like the clutch disk is holding up from releasing the flywheel or something? I notice it during the middle/end of the pedal's travel to the floor stop. However, I don't have a problem taking the gear lever out of the lower gear or putting it into the higher one. I don't really notice it when down-shifting, either.
I've tried varying the throttle position, pushing the clutch pedal in more quickly/slowly, timing, etc. and I can't seem to consistently avoid this condition - though, I have reduced it somewhat. Sometimes, it's totally smooth.
I remember my 996TT had a similar issue when up-shifting from first to second. I notice it in the GT3 during 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts. I've owned plenty of manual sports cars and none have exhibited this condition... maybe once in a blue moon - ill timed shift, etc.
Is this an idiosyncrasy of these cars? TIA
P.S. - this issue occurs when shifting over 3K rpms, low speed drivability is fine.
