N-Spec where specifically made for the 997 GT3. They are the 305/30/19" and the 235/35/19" sizes only (the 235 is available in "regular" MPSC. The tread has wider grooves to channel rain away better, but you lose over an inch of contact patch on the fronts alone....rears are even worse off. They are also (so it's said) made of a different compound. All I can say is they suck on the track!! Nothing like the regular ones. There is a post on rennlist which does a side by side comparison:

what is interesting is that on a 3-4 lap sprint (circa 5 minutes of track time), i ran them at 35 front and 37 rear. they where fine.
on a 15 min run, the tyres (that where 35 / 37) built up to 38 and 40 and lost their grip with that heat. the car was sliding around a lot, especially after about 10 minutes.

i dropped them to 33f and 35r HOT and they where better.

hope this is helpful. i think they worked bettwr when i dropped pressure a bit.

Thanks - I'll give it a try tomorrow when I'm at the track. I'll start 2lb lower see what happens. Funny thing is I ran my fastest lap time last weekend on the last lap of a session, so the tires where at their max temperature.

I agree with 35/37 being optimal psi for performance... they were sliding around a ton at 38-40....

Rmag I also get a ridiculous amount of tailwag during threshold braking... let me know if you solve the problem...

the r888' are wearing very slowly which is good.

how many heat cycles would you expect these to last?

re the tail wag, i have only experienced it once.
i do have my rear wing tilted up though. try that. more downforce obviously.

were those brand new 888's?
if so, shave them then the tailwag goes away.
