11-99 Foundation -- thoughts?
Anyone here have an 11-99 Foundation frame plate on their car?
Any thoughts on that? (e.g., amount to donate to get it, help in preventing tickets, etc,.?)

personally, i think its a good idea. cops are people too and many will probably give you a break if pulled over. anyway, it couldnt hurt right

The cost for my wife and I was $3000 and they send yearly donation request. About eight months ago my wife was pulled over for doing 82 miles per hour in a 65 zone. Never had a citation before and the officer nevertheless ticketed her for 75 over. In fairness to the officer, she never showed him her 11-99 badge. Not sure it would have made a difference.

Agreed that it's for a good cause and not a license to speed. But some of the cars on this forum are flashy and catch people's attention. Interesting to see those links and hear people's thoughts thus far on this subject...

I think it's just reduces your chances of a ticket depending on the cop. There have been times where my dad was pulled over going 80 in a 45 and got a warning, and one time where my brother wasn't even clocked and given a ticket going 75 in a 50 (the cop said if he tried to fight it he would change the speed to 85, after he showed him the 11-99 badge). So it really does come down to the cop, but I still think it's a good thing to be a part of, as far as helping their families.

I guess it depends on the cop....
My friend got pulled over several times this year and not all of them are CHP's some were local police and got away with the 11-99 ID everytime...
couple times on the freeway going 110mph, he just got a warning... check his ID and off he goes....

My 11-99 frame and badge didn't do jack.

Save the money and buy a V1 and Laser Park Pro - and dont go over 10mph on the FWY.
This foundation - despite being a very worthy cause - plays very well on our demographic looking to get out of a ticket or two - potentially. As we find however, it does not work that well at all.
