GT3 RS owners - have a laugh

Read this (but don't blame me if you spill your coffee laughing too hard):

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=152891

From the esteemed "YZracer"

To start off, I want to put out there that I did not win this race. I want to also say it was great to finally race a car that was worth racing.

So I was driving on Interstate 684 towards brewster with 3 of my sister and 2 friends in the car. What I come across next is a 2008 porsche 911 GT3 RS. Of course I get my hopes up. I look at him and make eye contact, I then continue to slowly pull away. When I get about 5 car lengths away, he floors it past me then slows. I catch up, I get next to him...

He floors it again, I floor it and we're off. I was doing about 70mph when we started. I was at about 5,000rpm when we started. We raced to about halfway through 6th gear, so I assume we raced to around 155mph. Not only did we do this once, we did it about three times due to traffic.

The results were all the same. Each time he crawled away, and I mean crawled. By 155ish his rear bumper was about 3-4 feet in front of my front bumper.

So even though it was a loss, it was great to finally run across someone with a great car who was willing to use it. I mean, why buy a car like the GT3 and not use it. It was fun and definately was a great time. If you don't believe in street racing, please don't post comments, we know your views and this thread just isn't for you.

Not trying to start any flame wars at all here but it looks like his car is a full stage III car. If so it should be good for 460hp on pump gas and 525hp on race fuel. At that point even with the weight disadvantage the results are somewhat feasible. Again, wasn't there, and not trying to stick up for anyone. Just food for thought.

OK, let's say for the sake of argument that it puts out 460 hp at a 3700 lb curb weight. Now add 500 lbs for passengers. Do the math and draw your own conclusion.

Again, I agree looking at the stats by themselves it doesn't look like an even match and I do not know the owner nor am I trying to stick up for them. However, I do know that some of these cars are good for low 11's in the 1/4 mile and I myself have seen a Stage III S4 Avant(wagon) walk a 996TT on the highway. Definitely would be interested in seeing the race.

honestly I think it is possible. When I was driving my GT3 on the German autobahn, the cars that would keep trying to stick to my rear bumper were all iterations of S4's - I am assumming modded. They were not at all easy to pull from, and there was at least one that obviously was capable of pulling on me repeatedly.

Stage 3-5 B5 S4s are more than a match for stock GT3/RS and Turbos in a straight line.

yeap as others have said b5 S4s can haul...

a stage 3 b5 s4 puts out 460 on pump gas and about 550 on race fuel with tweaks...

i know first hand what they are capable of as two of my friends have them, they can easily keep up with me when they run race gas and would absolutelly murder a GT3 RS in a straight line....

Undoubtadly the GT3 would destroy the S4 on the track, but as others have said these cars can go pretty fast in a straight line, not to mention from a rolling start.
